ITU Maritime ID - Country Codes
ITU Maritime IDs are used by radio communication facilities to identify their home country in Digital Selective Calling and Automatic Identification System messages, as part of their Maritime Mobile Service Identities. These Maritime IDs are assigned by The International Telecommunication Union.
ITU Maritime IDs have a regional structure based on numbers. For example, the first digit “2″ is assigned to Europe, 3 is North America, 4 is Asia, 5 is the Pacific and Eastern Indian Oceans and Southeast Asia, 6 is Africa and the Atlantic and Western Indian Oceans, and 7 is South America.
